2006 Show Season-
with Wendy Stewart

This season Blu embarked on a new discipline
with his rider Wendy in tow. He threw himself into Show Hack like the
veteran he is and came out as only Blu can with an arm load of
Ribbons.
Wendy is also
to be congratulated on grabbing Show Hack by the horns in her first
season in this discipline- way to Go!
Calvin
Klein:- aka 'Blu' is like a fine wine, improving with age as
only a horse of his breeding & pedigree can.......

The show season has
certainly flown by this year. Needless to say, I had the pleasure of
joining the Willowsping Arabians crew this spring, where they
welcomed me with open arms.
It was in Lombardy, where the cozy barn known as Willowsprings is
situated, that I was introduced to the "Champion Slug" known
as Blu. Our warm up at OVAHA Schooling Show in Richmond was most
definitely a bumpy one, and proof that quality time was needed, with
it only being near a month since our introduction.
With extra bonding time (and many treats later), Blu and I finally
connected and in doing so redeemed our partnership during the 2005
Tulip Show in Kemptville. Here we finished with the 2005 Reserve
Hunter Pleasure Champion ATR and 2005 Champion Hunter Pleasure Open.
Including placing Top 6 at Eastern Breeders in Hunter Pleasure and 2nd
in Native Costume.
Our next destination would be Jubilee, where we showed him off in
Halter taking home Reserve Arabian Gelding Champion and eventually
earning 2005 Champion Hunter Pleasure Open.
Hoping to succeed further, poor Kerry packed up once more, after
having just returned from his trip to Region 16, he buckled up for a
long ride to London for Region 18. With my coaching friend at my side,
Wendy and I woke up from a short night on the second floor of a barn,
having had the lights on till 1am and back on near 6am, getting riding
and washing poor Blu for the millionth time. It's here you realize
you're in the big leagues when you're face US Nationals in a class of
21. Leaving London with third place in Native Costume Top Five, and
proud to have been placed in the judge's card in Hunt Seat, though
winning nothing.
Having completed the season victoriously, Blu can finally return to
his dirt and hay at home with his loving owners and my dear friends,
Kerry and Eveline Kipping.
See you next year,
Natasha Buss
